Job Overview

Associate Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer (MEP) – San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 2 days in office per week minimum). The role is with Interface Engineering, a 100% employee‑owned firm that offers a hybrid work policy and a clear career path through its Pathway to Leadership program.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the permanent team leader for multi‑discipline engineers and designers.
• Lead and manage complex MEP projects across a range of industries including commercial, medical, biotech, education, transportation, and more.
• Design innovative and complex electrical systems.
• Meet with and consult clients to capture project requirements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to design staff.
• Support overall project management for MEP team leaders.

Required Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent engineering degree.
• 10+ years of experience in MEP design or consulting.
• Team leadership or management experience.
• Project management experience within the MEP space.
• Experience in healthcare building design and HCAI compliance.
• Strong client‑service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication ability.
• Complete understanding of building codes.
• Thorough knowledge of design systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering license (or equivalent experience).
• PMP certification.
• LEED accreditation.
• Proficiency with CAD and REVIT.
