Job summary

Interface Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (MEP) in Chicago for a hybrid role. You’ll lead MEP projects across multiple sectors from design through delivery, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and designers.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of MEP experience, strong client-facing and communication skills, and a solid understanding of building codes and design systems. This role offers employee ownership and a path to leadership within a dynamic firm.

Qualifications

• BSEE is required.
• 10+ years of experience in MEP design/consulting.
• Healthcare building design and HCAI compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as MEP Project Leader for multi-discipline engineers and designers.
• Managing complex MEP projects across numerous industries: Commercial, Medical, Biotech, Education, Transportation, and more.
• Innovative and complex electrical system design
• Meeting and consulting with clients
• Providing guidance to design staff
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You'll Bring:

Required

• BSEE
• 10+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• ProjectManagement Experience in the MEP space
• Healthcare building design and HCAI compliance experience
• High-energy client services skills
• Excellent communication ability
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (PE)
• PMP Certification
• LEED Accreditation
• Experience with CAD and REVIT
