Job summary

Revamp Engineering, Inc. seeks an Associate Principal Electrical Engineer to lead interconnection and power systems studies for utility-scale solar and storage across the United States. You will mentor junior engineers, manage project scopes and budgets, and serve as primary client contact with utilities.

This role can be performed remotely from most of the US or Canada. Salary range is USD; CAD range also provided for reference.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in electrical engineering (Power focus preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience performing power system studies with a focus on generator and/or large load interconnection.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN and other relevant software.
  • Strong working knowledge of interconnection processes across multiple ISOs and utilities.
  • Experience preparing interconnection models and supporting ISO/utility study review cycles.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including preparation of formal submittals and compliance documentation.
  • Ability to independently evaluate, select, and adapt modeling procedures and criteria for complex assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and client relationships across concurrent projects, and to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interconnection projects across multiple ISOs and utility systems.
  • Guide clients through sizing, submissions, scoping, review, mitigation, and closeout.
  • Review ISO/utility study assumptions and responses.
  • Lead large load interconnection modeling and study sensitivities.
  • Develop interconnection models to ISO/utility requirements.
  • Perform and oversee RMS/EMT studies using PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD.
  • Work with inverter models and tuning/validation.
  • Lead GFL and GFM inverter modeling.
  • Prepare reports/presentations describing studies and solutions.
