Overview




AmTrust Financial is seeking an ACAS or FCAS to participate in small commercial pricing and other actuarial research and development projects. Experience in pricing of primary and/or reinsurance business is a must. This unit supports small commercial BOP and Commercial Package products. Other duties may be assigned.






Responsibilities




    Actuary will be responsible for producing rate need opinions and supporting filings
  • Actuary will lead projects in data collection and dissemination of results to underwriters and senior management
  • Maintain communication with IT, compliance, claims, and UW departments on the various actuarial issues
  • Be responsible for on-time completion of requests from other departments
  • Work on actuarial research projects regarding pricing and planning.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on pricing and rate development





Qualifications




  • BS, BA or higher in mathematics preferred
  • ACAS or FCAS
  • 3-5 years of property-casualty commercial insurance experience, in primary pricing either through actuarial rotational program and/or combination of insurance/reinsurance company and/or consulting firm experience.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, SQL, and R.
  • Commercial Property experience preferred
  • Business knowledge should include, but not be limited to basic accounting, finance, and insurance.
  • As required to perform the position duties and responsibilities. Excellent written communication skills, including correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation. English required.
  • Experience supporting small commercial products, including rate filings is strongly preferred
  • Experience engaging with data science and modeling teams on pricing model and/or new product development a plus
