Associate Actuary - Variable Annuity Valuation (Remote)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced actuary to join our variable annuity valuation team. The successful candidate will drive the success of the team and support the company's financial reporting obligations. Key responsibilities include performing quarterly Statutory, GAAP, and Tax valuations of variable annuities, and collaborating with the Finance Department to analyze earnings drivers. The role also involves implementing new products, streamlining valuation processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Our actuarial program supports employees through exam completion, paid study time, and rotations across functions to develop practical experience.

Job Duties:
  • Perform quarterly valuations and variance analysis using AXIS software
  • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and improve valuation models and business plans
  • Develop automation tools for reporting and analysis
  • Collaborate with other departments
  • Perform ad hoc management reporting
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in insurance industry analysis and problem-solving
  • ASA or recent FSA designation
  • Strong technical skills, including SQL and programming
  • Ability to learn new software and concepts
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of variable annuities and regulations is preferred
  • Previous AXIS valuation experience is preferred
