Job Summary including Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplined project team
  • Comprehensive power system design, control systems, and machine safety experience
  • Ability to manage large complex projects with skills in power, control and electrical industrial automation
  • Design power and control systems for industrial process equipment used in the manufacturing of solid propulsion rocket motors
  • Have a working knowledge of how to program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) used to control a variety of equipment, processes, machine tools, and robotics
  • Design low & medium voltage power distribution systems; specify power distribution equipment, transformers and switch gear
  • Develop control philosophies and P&ID’s
  • Design electrical control systems using Allen-Bradley PLC’s and Schneider SmartX controllers
  • Develop electrical drawings: P&ID’s, one-line diagrams, schematics, panel arrangements, and more
  • Design, specify, and program servo drives & variable frequency drives (VFD) for motor control applications
  • Oversee installation and startup of newly designed systems
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation
  • Develop electrical maintenance guidelines for industrial equipment
  • Work with maintenance craftsmen to troubleshoot issues
  • Project management with supervision over all aspects of a project

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Power system design experience
  • Industrial control design experience
  • PLC systems and programming experience
  • Motion Control experience
  • Servo motor and drive experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in the field, climb ladders, work outside and work in congested areas

Salary Range: $62,200 - $93,400
