Associate Postgraduate Dean for Anaesthetics, Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine in the West of Scotland

Join NHS Ayrshire & Arran as an Associate Postgraduate Dean for Anaesthetics, Intensive Care Medicine, and Emergency Medicine in the West of Scotland.

Position Details

1. Hours: 2 PAs (8 hours per week)
2. Duration: Fixed-Term/Secondment – 3 years initially
3. Location: Flexible (remote, hybrid, or office-based within the UK)

Role Responsibilities

The Associate Postgraduate Dean provides leadership for regional and national postgraduate education programs, oversees training in the West Scotland Deanery, and contributes to strategic initiatives. The role involves engagement with trainees, trainers, and external bodies to enhance postgraduate education regionally and nationally.

Candidate Requirements

• Substantive NHS consultant in Scotland
• Support from current employer for a Service Level Agreement within their job plan
• Qualified MB ChB or equivalent, GMC registered
• Knowledge of GMC and Scotland Deanery quality frameworks
• Experience in NHS medical education and training
