Job summary

NewEdge Capital Group is seeking a candidate to support the investment team with portfolio construction and manager research. You will build customized portfolios for clients with NewEdge Wealth advisors and conduct due diligence on external managers to support distribution on our platform.

The role involves presenting to UHNW clients, institutions, and financial advisors, performing market research, and collaborating with the CIO and investment team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
• 18 months of experience in a financial advisory or financial representative role.
• Experience applying capital markets concepts to investment decisions and portfolio construction.

Responsibilities

• Utilize capital markets knowledge to guide investment decisions and build customized portfolios for clients and prospects.
• Perform asset allocation and portfolio construction analyses as well as transition analyses for client portfolios.
• Conduct market research and prepare quarterly analyses of the product platform with tear sheets and implementation guides.
• Manage due diligence, sourcing, and monitoring of third-party equity and fixed income managers.

Job description

This role encompasses supporting the investment team across multiple areas with a focus on portfolio construction and manager research. Within portfolio construction, the role requires building customized portfolios for clients and prospects in collaboration with NewEdge Wealth advisors. Manager research responsibilities include conducting due diligence, sourcing, and monitoring third party managers on equity and fixed income asset manager for distribution on our platform. The role requires various project engagement duties/tasks in conjunction with the Chief Investment Officer and the broader investment team.

Location: Coral Gables, FL. This position permits teleworking/remote working within commuting distance to Coral Gables, Florida 2 times per week (in office 3 days per week). 5-10% time domestic travel required.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Specific job duties include:
  • Utilizing strong working knowledge of capital markets, asset allocation and portfolio construction, with experience applying these concepts to investment decisions and creating customized portfolios.
  • Conducting asset allocation and portfolio construction analysis as well as transition analysis for client portfolios.
  • In depth research on market trends and conditions in relation to client portfolios.
  • Preparing quarterly analysis of the product platform including tear sheets and implementation guides.
  • Managing research and due diligence on equity and fixed income asset manager and provide due diligence, sourcing, and monitoring of third-party managers.
  • Working with and presenting to ultra high net worth clients, institutions and financial advisors.
  • Building customized portfolios for prospects and clients.
  • Providing analysis of client portfolios and research views of market conditions.

Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance (or related field) or foreign equivalent.
• 18 months of experience in a financial advisory or financial representative role.
• The qualifying 18 months of prior work experience in a financial advisory or financial representative role that required:
• Working knowledge of capital markets, asset allocation and portfolio construction, with experience applying these concepts to investment decisions and creating customized portfolios; and
• Conducting asset allocation and portfolio construction analysis as well as transition analysis for client portfolios.

Salary: No less than $69,410 annually depending on experience.
