Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Clayton, NC seeks a Site Project Portfolio Manager to support PPM processes, maintain Clarity portfolios, optimize investment governance, and coordinate STG meetings across global sites.

You will partner with site management, report to Senior Manager, and help translate budgets into actionable plans while training PMs on PPM templates and ensuring governance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business, or related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceuticals.
  • Minimum of two (2) years project management or change management experience.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel & PowerPoint preferred.
  • Experience with Clarity or similar portfolio management tools preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year advising senior leadership required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the site Project Portfolio Management (PPM) process, including maintaining project portfolios in Clarity, managing project changes, gate approvals, and processing investment applications.
  • Coordinate and facilitate assigned monthly Steering Group (STG) meetings, ensuring standardization of materials, agenda, and approach across director areas.
  • Assist in PPM prioritization and implementation planning in alignment with AB & RE budget cycles, supporting discussions with site management.
  • Support project managers in project execution, STG presentations, and Gate preparation for site portfolio, DFP IPG, and IPG projects.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of PPM metrics, portfolio overview files, and monthly Clarity status reporting to monitor portfolio health and performance.
  • Maintain PPM training materials aligned with site and corporate best practices, and provide training and support to Project Managers and LOB on PPM processes and templates.
  • Maintain the PPM Governance SharePoint site and serve as site Clarity Super User.

About the Department

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.

The Position

Support the site Project Portfolio Management (PPM) process by assisting with monthly status updates, investment budget tracking, and coordination of Drug Product Manufacturing (DPM) IDP presentations and meetings. Help ensure new DPM investment requirements and process improvements are integrated with current local processes. Assist in maintaining consistent Steering Group (STG) practices across the sites and support training for Project Management (PM) and STG participants. Communicate project risks and resources constraints to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.

Reports to (Senior) Manager.


Essential Functions


  • Support the site Project Portfolio Management (PPM) process, including maintaining project portfolios in Clarity, managing project changes, gate approvals, and processing investment applications

  • Other responsibilities, as assigned


Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business, or related field of study from an accredited university required

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceuticals required

  • Minimum of two (2) years project management or change management experience or required

  • Advanced user of MS Excel & PowerPoint preferred

  • Experience with Clarity or similar portfolio management tools preferred

  • Minimum of one (1) years advising senior leadership required

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and maintain project portfolio schedules and agendas preferred

  • Experience with Clarity or similar portfolio management tools preferred
