The role emphasizes cLEAN/Six Sigma practice, system audits, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement across multiple sites worldwide.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
- Associate degree with 5 years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities or packaging systems.
- High school diploma/GED with 7 years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities or packaging systems.
- Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities or packaging systems.
Responsibilities
- Support plans to maintain and improve process control systems.
- Coordinate plans with manufacturing schedules for timely execution.
- Act as automation resource on projects involving process control systems.
- Follow-up results and revise work plans for cross-functional teams.
- Adhere to automation standards and update related specifications and maintenance plans.
- Support audits and inspections for process control systems.
- Use cLEAN® tools for problem solving, process improvement and project management.
- Operate with a Quality Mindset focusing on risk management and mitigation.
- Implement effective change management and support local IT initiatives.
- Contribute to SOP development and maintenance procedures.
- Follow safety and environmental requirements in duties.

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.
You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees. FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. Work with business stakeholders and/or project team and vendors to ensure process control systems for existing and/or new equipment and processes are in alignment with local and global standards. Work with equipment vendors to spec equipment IFA's and requirements ensuring the equipment is ability to connect to and be used in local manufacturing meeting all requirements through people & equipment focus, as well as serving as gatekeeper for standards.
Reports to Manager, Senior Manager.
- Support plans to maintain & improve process control systems
- Schedule & execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules
- Operate as automation resource on projects that involve process control systems
- Own self-development & initiative to understand the site process control systems
- Adhere to the automation standards & implement the necessary changes to the automation-related specifications & maintenance plans
- Support audits & inspections for process control systems
- Utilize the appropriate cLEAN® tools within the main areas of Systematic Problem Solving, process improvement & project management
- Operate within compliance with a Quality Mindset that focuses on risk management & mitigation
- Implement effective change management
- Support Corporate, PS, local IT & local stakeholder initiatives & projects
- Participate in the development of new SOPs, best practices and maintenance procedures
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field of study from an accredited university required:
- May consider an Associate’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility &/or packaging systems required
- May consider a High School Degree/GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility &/or packaging systems required
- Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility &/or packaging systems required
- For Logistics roles only: Warehouse automation equipment a plus (Automated storage and Retrieval Systems, Automated Guided vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots and Conveyor systems)
- Knowledgeable in the following technologies: SAP EM, PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL (databases), Historian, general controls a plus SAP EWM a plus
- Proven expertise in planning/organization/execution of engineering activities a plus
- Ability to follow-up on results & revising the work plan for moderately complex problems being resolved by cross functional teams a plus
- Ability to translate high level direction into actionable tasks that deliver results using cLEAN® / Six Sigma methodologies a plus
