Job summary

Power Design seeks an Associate Plumbing Designer to lead plumbing system design on large projects, including flow calculations, equipment selection, and piping layouts across mechanical and electrical scopes.

You will collaborate with Revit/CADD technicians, ensure constructability, and communicate with customers, project teams, and inspectors to ensure compliance and quality across codes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of plumbing design experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing codes (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals/specifications, and perform basic plumbing calculations.

About The Position

As the Associate Plumbing Designer, you’ll work on plumbing flow calculations, equipment selections, and piping layouts to coordinate and design seamlessly along our mechanical and electrical scopes.

Position Details / Responsibilities

• Coordinate the best design solutions for plumbing systems by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
• Provide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members, including working directly with Revit CADD technicians to ensure quality and review constructability.
• Communicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• A team player who always acts with customers in mind and thrives in a constantly changing and evolving environment.
• 4+ years of relevant plumbing design experience.
• Working knowledge of constructability and strong design fundamentals for mechanical, plumbing systems, and installation methods required.
• Experience sizing water heaters, sump pumps, sewage ejectors, and domestic hot water plants.
• CADD/Revit experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE).
• An excellent communicator who is able to read and interpret blueprints, submittals/specifications, and perform basic plumbing calculations.
• Knowledge of plumbing domestic water, storm, and sanitary calculations, as well as experience in pipe sizing, layout, and design for plumbing systems.
