Job summary

Michael Kors is seeking an Associate Planner to develop financial plans and monitor sales, inventory, and gross margin for the Outlet business. You will collaborate with the buying team to manage open-to-buy, analyze seasonal assortments, and shape merchandising strategies.

You will create detailed plans and forecasts, drive pricing discussions, and lead analysis by classification and store level to support profitability and sell-through.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in Retail Planning, Store Planning and/or Allocation.
• Advanced Excel Skills.
• Advanced Retail Math.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Initiate analysis and develop financial strategy for a rapidly growing retail business across multiple classifications and channels (outlet stores, and ecommerce).
• Create seasonal, monthly, and weekly plans and forecasts for sales, inventory, markdowns and gross margin. Monitor performance and partner with buying team to develop merchandise strategies to achieve plans. Play an active role in making pricing recommendations.
• Initiate and develop actionable analysis to recap business by classification and subclass at a top-line as well as store level. Partner with buying team to create strategies to drive sales and achieve gross margin profitability.
• Manage and update monthly open-to-buy.
• Recommend buys based on thorough analysis of retail business prior to each market to achieve increased sales, profitability and sell-thru %. Provide suggested SKU count targets at a class and store cluster level. Analyze key item style performance and forecast inventory needs.
• Work with buying team and stores to analyze business by door to maximize sales and stock opportunities. Monitor flow of initial assortments as well as reorders to stores by classification and by style.
• Aid in allocation strategies to increase productivity and manage omni-inventory.

Who You Are:

You’ll Need to Have:
