UF Health in Jacksonville is hiring a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care and supportive services during night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am). This full-time role requires 36 hours per week under the supervision of an RN.

The PCA helps deliver safe, patient-centered care, keeps a clean, orderly environment, and demonstrates service excellence to promote patient and family satisfaction. A high school diploma or GED and BLS certification are required.

Competenze

• Age of patients served: All age groups.
• Required education: High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification is required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer (psychiatric unit only).
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions; ability to read/write in English.

The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
