Job summary

UF Health in Florida seeks a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to provide direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Full-time position: 36 hours per week, 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate professionally with the healthcare team.
• Ability to learn and apply hospital computer technologies.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions; able to read/write in English.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
