Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for full-time 36 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. The PCA delivers direct patient care under an RN’s supervision and supports a safe, clean, patient-centered environment to enhance patient and family satisfaction.

Required: High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and less than one year of experience. Training in Crisis Prevention Institute is required within 90 days for psychiatric units.

The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Necessary Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
