Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare in Jacksonville seeks a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to provide direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on safe, patient-centered care in a clean, orderly environment while practicing service excellence to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Shift is full-time, 40 hours weekly, 6:45am to 3:15pm, Monday through Friday.

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
