Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Kyle, TX is hiring an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support clinic operations, including patient registration, insurance verification, co-pays, and scheduling of diagnostics and follow-ups. You will greet patients, complete check-in/out tasks, process payments, manage medical records, answer phones, and maintain smooth patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage wait time.
  • Handle check-in and check-out tasks including insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
  • Collect co-pays/coinsurance and issue receipts; manage cashier box.
  • Process walk-ins and schedule appointments; answer phones.
  • Maintain and file medical records and logs; ensure documents scanned.
  • Establish positive relationships with patients and staff.

Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Processes walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answers phones and schedules appointments
  • Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
  • Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service
  • Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of related medical office work experience, including data entry
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Prior experience with EMR computer applications
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
