UF Health in Jacksonville is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for full-time 36 hours per week shift from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

The PCA provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and supports a safe, patient-centered care environment, ensuring cleanliness and service excellence to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer for Psychiatric unit; annual renewal.

The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills:

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.


• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.


• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification


• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
