Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a Registration Specialist to support inpatient and outpatient access. You will perform pre-registration and registration, collect demographic and insurance data, and ensure signatures on legal and financial forms to facilitate patient care.

You will verify insurance coverage with carriers, obtain necessary authorizations, document decisions in the system, and handle payments at service.

Assists in performing a variety of registration, insurance verification, scheduling and billing duties in support of inpatient and outpatient access to medical services.

Job Responsibility

• Assists in performing pre-registration and registration duties; Obtains necessary demographic and insurance information and enters data into computer system; Obtains appropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial forms;
• Aids in verification of patient insurance coverage and other related data with third party carriers for scheduled appointments/procedures; Aids in obtaining patient’s insurance authorization required for services; Documents authorization approvals and denials in computer systems; Collects money due from patient at time of service; may preform billing, receivable and related functions.
