Lamb Weston is seeking an Associate Packaging Engineer in Richland, WA to support identification, development and commercialization of new packaging, and to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams across manufacturing and distribution networks. The role focuses on packaging innovation, plant efficiency, and interfacing packaging design with manufacturing.

A bachelor’s degree in packaging/engineering and packaging industry experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Packaging or Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 co-op or internship in packaging, preferably CP G.
• 1+ year experience in packaging industry, CP G preferred.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, capabilities, and equipment.
• Experience with 2-D/3-D design programs (AutoCAD, ArtiosCad, SolidWorks) preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support the innovation stage‑gate process on assigned packaging projects from ideation through commercialization.
• Simultaneous support and lead high complex technical projects.
• Develop ideas for savings, innovation, plant efficiency and quality improvements that are relevant to the business.
• Independently plan, execute, and analyze plant/pilot plant/lab trials.
• Develop and manage technical packaging specifications.
• Establish strong working relationship with key suppliers.
• Utilize Dynamics Lab to qualify material and perform prototyping.
