The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking research faculty in a discipline relevant to organ transplantation to join the new Center for Transplantation Science.
The Center for Transplantation Science is a new interdepartmental research program designed to foster clinical, translational, and basic science research related to transplantation. Relevant research areas, including immunology, computational biology, cellular biology, vascular biology, and regenerative medicine, are among the areas of focus that would be considered to fit within the interests and scope of the Center. The successful candidates will benefit from the highly stimulating and collaborative environment within the Department and the Center.
The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and maintaining an independent, extramurally funded, and productive research program in transplantation science. Research will collaborate with other Departments in the School of Medicine. Additional responsibilities will include providing high-quality training and teaching within the School of Medicine.
The appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. The series will be 50% Ladder Rank/50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.
