Job summary

L3Harris is seeking an Associate Optical Engineer to design, develop, and test optical technologies and systems in Tulsa, OK. You will collaborate with device, hardware, and software teams to qualify components, develop performance models, and implement test procedures.

This role includes exposure to airborne sensors on Gulfstream aircraft, with travel 1–2 weeks occasionally. The position emphasizes hands-on optics work, interdisciplinary coordination, and a pathway to professional growth within

Qualifications

To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics or related field or have completed their bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

Support development of Optical Engineering tools and procedures for Optical Design, Analysis, Integration, and Test.
Experience with optical design codes (Zemax, Code V, etc.).
Experience with mathematical analysis codes (Matlab, Mathematica, MathCad, etc.).
Opto-mechanical experience and knowledge of Optical Metrology (interferometers, image quality metrics).
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and document changes.
