Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Tulsa is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead design, integration, and testing of high-reliability electro-optical systems. You will work across mechanical, electrical, optical and systems engineering teams to deliver robust hardware solutions.

The role requires hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assemblies, CAD (Siemens NX), and analyses, plus the ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; Graduate Degree with 2+ years.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly design including mechanisms, motors, gear-trains, mounts.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM.
• Active Secret or Top Secret US DoD clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of electro-mechanical assemblies for demanding environments.
• Develop electronics packaging designs with thermal, EMI/EMC considerations.
• Lead sensor packaging and interface coordination across mechanical, electrical, optical and systems teams.
• Design optical systems packaging and precision positioning hardware.
• Perform structural, thermal and CFD analyses to validate designs.
• Drive prototype fabrication and hardware bring-up in production environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and project planning.
