Job summary

Cirrascale is seeking an Associate Network Engineer in San Diego to join the Engineering team. This entry-level IC role will gain hands-on experience with SD-WAN, multi-homed internet edge, and InfiniBand fabrics powering AI/HPC workloads.

You will serve as the escalation bridge between NOC and Engineering, assisting with day-to-day network duties and collaborating with Senior Network Engineers on complex issues.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in network engineering or related infra roles.
• Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 networking concepts; exposure to BGP/OSPF/ECMP is a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise switches/routers/firewalls (Cisco/Arista/SONiC/Fortinet).
• Basic exposure to network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana.
• Interest in learning network automation with Ansible, Python, etc.
• Exposure to cloud and virtualization concepts (Proxmox, k8s) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation bridge between NOC and Engineering to troubleshoot L2 network issues.
• Assist with configuring and maintaining SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, and switching/routing environments.
• Support InfiniBand deployment for GPU cluster infrastructure.
• Maintain network telemetry and BGPM monitoring systems and learn routing anomalies.
• Monitor network performance and follow runbooks for incident response and postmortems.
• Contribute to data center bringups, hardware upgrades, and capacity planning.
