Job summary

SCAD in Savannah, GA is seeking an associate mental health counselor to join a licensed, compassionate team providing confidential services to help students navigate challenges and thrive. The role includes individual and group counseling, skill-building workshops, and outreach programs.

You'll consult with academic departments, residence life, the registrar, and other offices regarding student mental health, maintain an active caseload, and develop psychoeducational programs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
• Two years of counseling experience in higher education preferred.
• Clinical supervision credentials preferred.
• Licensed or license-eligible in mental health field; ability to obtain licensure within two years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assigned individual and group counseling sessions.
• Maintain an active caseload of students with counseling needs.
• Provide students with community referrals and supervision for clinical trainees.
• Attend weekly case conferences and participate in quarterly student orientations.
• Develop outreach and psychoeducational programs/presentations.
• Promptly document contact with students in Titanium.
• Conduct crisis intervention with students, including on-call duties.
• Maintain a personal schedule in the master schedule and Titanium.
• Inform supervisor of personal staff development needs and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Prepare performance reviews for supervisor signatures and approvals.
