Job summary

HopeWest, Grand Junction, Colorado seeks an Associate Medical Director to lead clinical operations for 222+ PACE participants, overseeing their primary care needs and acting as the medical care expert.

Reporting to the Medical Director, you will supervise a team of Nurse Practitioners and collaborate with RNs, CNAs, PT/OT, managers and IDT to drive clinical initiatives and high-quality care. A hands-on, collaborative leader with strong decision-making and business acumen is essential.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO is required.
  • Board certified in primary care specialty such as Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience.
  • Minimum of five years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous PACE experience preferred but not required.
  • Controlled substance license with current DEA license number.
  • Preferred additional certification in Geriatrics, Hospice & Palliative Medicine, HPM Medical Director certification, or other senior care certification.
  • Eligible or currently possess a Medicare/Medicaid NPI number.

Associate Medical Director

The Position
  • The Associate Medical Director will lead clinical operations for approximately 222+ PACE participants, overseeing their primary care needs and acts as the expert in their medical care.
  • Reporting directly to the Medical Director, this leader will help to oversee a team of Nurse Practitioners and will work in collaboration with RNs, CNAs, PT/OT, Managers, and IDT.
  • In collaboration with the Medical Director, the Associate Director will focus on ongoing clinical initiatives including care plans, behavioral health initiatives, and case reviews.
  • Seeking a clinically sound leader who will be able to foster trust through strong staff relationships, assess team dynamics, identify and remove barriers, leverage data to drive decisions, and provide recommendations for improvement and positive change. Additional responsibilities include clinical oversight related to workflow development, fall risks, committee reviews, finances/invoices and some pharmacy workflows.
  • The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, collaborative leader with a proven ability to build strong relationships and drive results. Additionally, this leader must be adaptive, communicative, and bring exceptional decision‑making and business acumen skills to ensure that the program can achieve both long‑ and short‑term goals.

Compensation Details
  • The base salary range for this position is $212,000 to $234,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
