Premier Research is looking for an Associate Medical Coding Specialist/ Medical Coding Specialist (Contractor) to join our Functional Services Provider (FSP) team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Classify medical terms (procedures, adverse events, medical history) by performing medical coding using various medical dictionaries (e.g., MedDRA, WHODrug, ICD9, ICD10, Snomed, BNF) via applicable coding tools (e.g., Oracle Thesaurus Management System, ClinPlus, Rave Coder, dsNavigator, iMedNet, OmniComm Autoencoder, Clearight Pace).
• Issue and manage queries for clarification due to vague, inadequate, or ambiguous Case Report Form (CRF) data.
• Ensure consistency of coding across projects and escalate concerns to supervisors or managers as needed.
• Maintain a clinical understanding of medical terminology, clinical research, adverse event reporting, and standardized dictionaries.
• Serve as a first-line support and subject matter expert to study teams regarding clinical trial coding.
• Record issues, communications, and resolutions in a computer-based ticketing system.

What We Are Searching For

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in a clinical, biological, scientific, or health-related field, or equivalent experience.
• For Associate Medical Coding Specialist: 0-3 years of practical experience with clinical data management systems or coding tools (e.g., Oracle TMS, Medidata Rave, Pace, ClinPlus, dsNavigator, iMedNet, IBM), or proven experience in primary job functions.
• For Medical Coding Specialist: 3-5 years of practical experience with similar systems or proven experience in primary functions.
• Familiarity with drug development and clinical trial processes is preferred.
• Good knowledge of clinical/medical and pharmaceutical terminology; Latin medical terminology is a plus.
• Experience with coding dictionaries like MedDRA and WHODrug is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment and Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
