Job summary

Providence is seeking an Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) to work under a licensed Practitioner to support basic patient care. The role combines administrative and clinical duties to meet patient needs while adhering to established policies and regulations.

As part of Providence Medical Foundation, you will help deliver compassionate, whole-person care. Training and BLS certification are required within 30 days of hire to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant with clinical skills (vital signs, injections, medication administration).
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.

Job description

The Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) works under the delegation of a licensed Practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or


• Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or


• Coursework/Training Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.


• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association


• Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months Experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment.


• 6 months Experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
