Job summary

Providence Medical Institute in Torrance, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant I to assist in providing basic patient care under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties, following established policies and regulations.

The MA I will obtain vital signs, administer injections, and manage medications as directed, with training and onboarding including BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).

The Medical Assistant (MA) I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required qualifications:
