Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is developing a global space-based cellular broadband network and seeks an Associate Mechanisms Engineer to support the assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft mechanisms. You will work closely with design, test, and production teams to ensure successful build, qualification, and delivery of space mechanisms and subsystems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant aerospace or precision hardware experience preferred.
  • Space-qualified mechanisms experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing and test engineering support during build, integration, and verification phases.
  • Lead mechanism- and subsystem-level tests; define testing requirements and tooling.
  • Support design reviews to optimize manufacturing flow and cost.
  • Prepare detailed product and process reports from data analyses.
  • Troubleshoot anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolutions.
  • Contribute to iterative mechanism design improvements based on test findings.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and production teams across programs.
