Job summary

JFE Engineering seeks an Associate Mechanical Engineer to support HVAC and mechanical system design for industrial facilities, manufacturing buildings, and data centers. This role offers hands-on experience in design production, coordination, permitting, and construction support.

The ideal candidate is early in their career, with 1–3 years of HVAC design experience, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering preferred, and basic proficiency in Revit; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in HVAC/mechanical design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Revit; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support HVAC/mechanical design production in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Assist with load calculations, equipment schedules, duct and piping layouts, and basic controls coordination.
  • Help prepare permit and construction documents under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Architectural teams on system routing and equipment requirements.
  • Support AHJ permit responses, plan check comments, and document revisions.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, field observations, and closeout documentation as assigned.
