- Develop and maintain design history documentation in accordance with established new product development procedures.
- Construct functional mechanical/electrical prototype systems throughout the design process.
- Assist with qualification test activities to ensure that products comply with technical specifications and requirements. Generate test protocols and document test results.
- Coordinate with external resources and suppliers for component and subsystem sourcing.
- Interact with internal cross-functional departments to complete project-related activities.
- Participate in project and technical design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with quality control policies and applicable regulatory standards.
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field
- Experience: 0-4 years of relevant product development experience or 5-10 years of design-related experience with molded plastic components in lieu of BS degree.
- Experience with 3D solid modeling and file management software (SolidWorks/PDM preferred)
- Ability to read, understand, and produce engineering drawings
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Familiar with basic machining and fabrication principles, injection molding, and plastic part assembly processes
- Experience creating documentation associated with new product development
- Team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-disciplinary and creative environment
- Highly motivated and capable of setting and achieving goals with minimal supervision
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
