Job summary

McKinstry in Portland, OR is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer who will lead and mentor a team of engineers, oversee project deliverables, and drive coordination across disciplines to meet scope and schedule.

You will act as the technical authority on mechanical systems design, apply energy modeling, and ensure effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • PE registration or active licensure
  • 10+ years of engineering design experience
  • 3+ years in project and people management
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant software and tools

Responsibilities

Job description

The Associate Mechanical Engineer will lead and manage a team of engineers, overseeing project deliverables and driving coordination between teams. They will serve as a technical authority in mechanical systems design and manage project correspondence and scope.

Requirements
  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and at least 10 years of experience in engineering design, including 3 years in project and people management.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (PE) registration and advanced knowledge of relevant software are also required.
