Job summary

GPLA Structural Engineers and Builders, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Associate Mechanical Designer. You will assist with mechanical drawings, specifications and calculations across project phases, collaborating with engineers and modelers to deliver coordinated designs.

Training is provided while you grow foundational drafting and modeling skills. Education requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering or related field, with an Engineer-in-Training

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or related field required or equivalent experience.
No experience required.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in progress or intent to pursue preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in producing mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations with clearly defined tasks.
Develop basic mechanical layouts for HVAC, piping, and equipment systems per codes and standards.
Perform drafting, layout, and documentation tasks with guidance from engineers and senior designers.
Support construction administration activities, including shop drawing reviews and RFIs replies, under supervision.
Use CAD software to create 2D drawings and assist with 3D mechanical models.
