Job description

The Regeneron Genetic Center's (RGC) Genome Informatics team is looking for an Associate Manager of Sequencing Informatics Research to serve as the lead scientist and developer for the RGC’s Sequencing Informatics research initiatives. This individual will contribute to development and design of sequencing informatics methods and protocols for new and existing multi-omics platforms, including PacBio, Illumina, Olink, and Ultima. These efforts will be driven by the goal to maximize value from RGC samples and data. Working closely with the Sequencing & Lab Operations and Production Informatics teams, this role will also assist the methods engagement with RGC’s technology partners to on-board new sequencing and informatics platforms and ensure they can meet the RGC’s unique scaling and analysis needs.

Discover your role:
  • Lead the integration of state-of-the-art and novel methods to create multi-omics informatics best-practices that increase value from RGC samples by lowering data requirements and leveraging RGC’s unique data resources
  • Identify opportunities that combine multiple sequencing modalities (e.g., short-read, long-read, capture, genome, depth-based) to increase the actionability of RGC sequencing deliverables
  • Inform development of novel sequencing informatics protocols to support multi-omics applications on existing and new sequencing platforms, including DNA-seq, RNA-seq, long-read sequencing, and proteomics
  • Support RGC’s joint development efforts with technology partners (e.g. NVIDIA, Google Brain) to improve base-calling, read mapping, variant calling and harmonization through bioinformatics R&D
  • Collaborate with RGC’s Genomics R&D, Engineering and Production teams to deploy novel methods into the RGC’s Enterprise Research environment as industry-quality software
This role requires:
  • Master’s (PhD preferred) in Bioinformatics or equivalent
  • 0-3 years of experience in sequencing informatics methodology, including base calling, read mapping, and variant calling algorithms and software.
  • Experience with large-scale multi-omics data types, including DNA-seq (short and long read), RNA-seq, proteomics, methylation.
  • Expert fluency in state-of-the-art bioinformatic tools and standards.

Salary Range (annually) $109,900.00 - $179,300.00
