About The Team

On the Merchant Strategy & Operations team, our mission is to have best-in-class restaurant selection for Consumers and build products and services for our Merchants to grow their businesses profitably on DoorDash. We work on problems ranging from acquiring and onboarding new merchants to building a positive experience and solving pain points for existing merchants, to growing their sales through new products and services.

About The Role

As an Associate Manager on DoorDash’s Restaurant Menu team, you will drive impact by building out tooling and optimizations to improve how our Merchants build their menus. In this role, you’ll own end-to-end strategy and execution for all things related to menu experience, which will involve developing go-to-market strategies, launching experiments and supporting growth initiatives that will allow us to improve the overall quality of restaurant menus at DoorDash. You will solve problems by digging into details, executing quickly in the face of ambiguity, and building strong cross-functional collaboration.

On the Merchant team, you’ll get to the lowest level of detail by speaking to Merchants, partnering with our Support, Sales, and Product teams, and analyzing our data to develop hypotheses for new ways to achieve your goals. You’ll test these hypotheses in the market and refine your approach to develop best-in-world solutions. And, you’ll also make sure to capture the Merchant voice in everything we do.

You will report to our Manager of Merchant Strategy & Operations in this role.

You're Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

  • Operate & Build – Drive the strategy & execution for new DoorDash Selection initiatives to help build and retain a differentiated merchant base
  • Analyze – Build models to evaluate the economics, value and opportunity costs of strategic initiatives intended to acquire and retain merchants across our platform
  • Experiment – Use data-driven decision-making to run tests or develop insights to inform strategic initiatives
  • Optimize – Build the best merchant acquisition engine so DoorDash continues to offer the highest quality selection for its customers
  • Influence & Work Crossfunctionally – Work cross-functionally across the Merchant Organization and broader DoorDash
  • Make Stuff Happen - You handle chaos and complexity, in a detailed and structured way and have a strong bias to action that brings your plans to life in execution. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to make process improvements and build scalable, repeatable solutions to day to day operating problems.

We're Excited About You Because…

  • You are a proven operator - You have 4+ years of experience in consulting / strategy / business development / program management / technology / banking or related experience; high-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus. You have a bachelors degree or higher
  • You are analytical – You dig deep to understand a problem, using both quantitative and qualitative data; SQL knowledge or willingness to learn is required.
  • You are a collaborator - You have a proven track record of leading initiatives, working cross-functionally, and succeeding in a team first environment.
  • You are a problem solver – You have an ownership mentality and are excited to think about problems using first principles, inspiring action to create the future. You can independently translate high-level goals into actionable plans.
  • You are a strong communicator – You communicate early and often and can distill complex topics into a summary for stakeholders at all levels -- both written and verbal. You effectively tell the story to different audiences and through different mediums - strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
