Job summary

Sanford is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform light maintenance, repairs and cleaning under supervision in a healthcare setting. Day shifts across the campus with safety protocols and basic tools will be involved.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and a valid driver's license; CPR/BLS may be required on hire. Prior building maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks under supervision.
• Use basic hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.
• Read blueprints and schematics; familiarity with manuals is helpful.
• Explain conditions and troubleshoot; work all shifts as scheduled.
• Follow corporate policies and dress code; ensure clear verbal and written communication.
• Work independently with minimal supervision; know applicable codes and ordinances.
• Install and maintain mechanical systems including boiler operations; campus grounds upkeep.
• May be required to handle on-call duties as directed.

Job Description

• Must take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children.
• Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.
• A familiarity of blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful.
• Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.
• Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Understand written and verbal communications.
• Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.
• Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
• May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.
