Job summary

Teton County is seeking a Planning professional to perform technical work in professional planning for the Planning and Building Services Department. You will review planning and development applications, building permits, and verify compliance with the County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations.

Responsibilities include preparing staff reports for public hearings, utilizing GIS for land use analysis, and coordinating with state and federal agencies as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in planning related fields; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as initial point of contact for customer service regarding land development inquiries.
  • Review planning and development applications and building/grading permits for compliance with County regulations and Comprehensive Plan.
  • Prepare staff reports and provide technical recommendations at public hearings to Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners.
  • Use GIS to analyze land use trends and support current and long-range planning projects.
  • Research policy issues and prepare text amendments to Land Development Regulations for presentation to the Planning Commission and Board.
  • Support County staff-public interactions with courteous, confidential service; perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or related field
Master's Degree in related field preferred
