The Associate Logistics Technician is responsible for his/her own work. This position reports to the Stockroom Supervisor along with the Stockroom Coordinator(s) and Packaging Clerk(s). He/She maintains accurate stock balances, issues and receives parts, verifies cycle counts and error reconciliations in any and all stockrooms. The incumbent is fully versed in and has knowledge of all transaction screens required to perform: verifications, corrections, kit issues, shop floor issues, shortages, receipts from the shop, receipt from Receiving Inspection, returns to stock, inter-stock transfers and spares shipments. There are 32 transaction screens that could be used on a daily basis to perform the activities listed, therefore, a large part of the job is knowing how and when to use the appropriate transaction. There is a high degree of accuracy required because all parts are now, essentially, traceable by lot. This demands that the stock clerk constantly be aware of the lot numbers that are being requested. Keyboard accuracy is also highly important because we are working in an on-line, real-time environment where an error could be immediately accepted and processed. The Stockroom Clerk may on a daily basis be asked to interface with Program Analysts, Engineers, Dispatch Personnel, Model Shop Expediters, Receiving Inspection Personnel, and Assembly and Test Personnel. They will also train any new employees and may be asked to work in different stockrooms as workload necessitates. Physically, the job demands that the stock clerk be on his/her feet constantly and be able to lift parts and boxes that vary in weight from less than a pound to 65 lbs. Moreover, proper packaging and handling techniques are necessary to prevent damage to parts and finished goods and in order to prevent injury to the clerks. Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) training and handling is also a requirement. The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for identifying and/or questioning any deviations to standard practices such as cure dates, packaging, and material handling. He/She signs off on Certification Sheets on spare parts. Additionally, Stockroom housekeeping activities such as cleaning material handling pans, keeping the stockroom neat and orderly, consolidating inventory and maintaining supplies will be required.
