Summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join our Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup. This position is open to our Miami office.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities as an Associate will vary based on specific practice group.
  • Case Management: Assist in managing a variety of cases from inception to resolution, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and preparing for trials or settlements.
  • Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with regular updates and addressing their concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft well‑reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations, keeping up‑to‑date with changes in laws and legal precedents.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your legal skills and knowledge.
  • Engage in pro bono work by providing legal assistance to underserved and underrepresented communities ensuring access to justice for all individuals.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
