Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its civil and commercial litigation practice in Colorado. The ideal candidate will manage assigned matters with support from senior attorneys and legal staff, handling a diverse caseload from assessment through trial, mediation or settlement.

Requirements include 3-7 years of civil/commercial litigation, active Colorado Bar, and hands-on experience across multiple phases.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of civil and/or commercial litigation experience.
• Active Colorado Bar admission and eligibility to practice in Colorado.
• Hands-on experience managing litigation matters through multiple phases of the litigation process.
• Experience in construction, real estate, commercial/business disputes, contract litigation, general liability or mechanic's liens preferred.
• 1st or 2nd chair trial experience preferred, along with experience handling depositions, discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, communication and client-service skills, with the ability to work independently and seek guidance when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned civil and commercial litigation matters from case assessment through settlement, mediation, arbitration or trial
• Handle a diverse caseload involving construction, real estate, breach of contract, business disputes, general liability/personal injury and mechanic's liens
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, settlement agreements, contracts and related filings
• Conduct discovery and case preparation, including depositions, document review, subpoenas, expert coordination and witness preparation
• Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including hearings, negotiations, mediation, arbitration and trial preparation
• Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff regarding case strategy, status, legal issues and potential outcomes
