We are hiring an Associate Support Engineer to support the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. This role offers an opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a passion for Linux and open source technologies to work with industry experts at Canonical.

The role involves solving technical problems, providing expert support across cloud, desktop, and IoT, and managing cases from qualification to resolution. It is a globally remote position.

Location

This is a remote role.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical support from your home office.
2. Owning and managing support cases via phone, email, and web.
3. Communicating effectively with customers and team members.
4. Ensuring support cases meet SLA standards and customer satisfaction.
5. Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles.
6. Drafting technical notices and updates.
7. Prioritizing tasks and continuously learning about product updates.
8. Understanding Ubuntu development to set realistic customer expectations.
9. Participating in team communications and suggesting improvements.
10. Joining a weekend rotation schedule.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic record from high school and university.
• Degree in a technical field or relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Experience with Linux troubleshooting.
• Knowledge or experience in Linux server administration, programming, networking, or virtualization.
• Quick learner, adaptable, and customer-focused.
• Willingness to travel internationally twice a year.

Preferred Skills:
