Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) seeks an Associate Level Manufacturing Assembler to support our Argon Operations in Smithfield, PA. The role performs routine assembly of structural and mechanical components and follows established procedures to solve issues of limited scope.

This 2nd shift, 100% onsite position requires reading engineering drawings and specifications, using basic tools, and maintaining quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, understand, engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Level Manufacturing Assembler to support our Operations Argon team at Smithfield, PA.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.
  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established practices and procedures.
  • Has substantial and thorough understanding of the job

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read, understand, engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 1 or more years of experience working with specialized tools (e.g., electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, accessing computer files, multimeters)
  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data).
  • Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements. Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and reproducibility requirements are met.
  • Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).
  • Demonstrates an interest in personal learning and development. Seeks feedback from multiple sources about how to improve and develop; modifies behavior based on feedback or self-analysis of past mistakes. Take steps to develop and maintain the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to accept responsibility and accountability for one's actions. Exhibits a moral, legal or mental accountability in areas of responsibility
