Job Description

Assist lab supervisors with routine laboratory operations and administrative tasks. Perform high and moderate complexity laboratory testing on clinical and environmental specimens using manual and automated methods within BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories. Generate reports, keep records, and perform tasks related to laboratory testing. Cross-train in various methods and techniques across PHL to assist with routine and surge events. Use the Laboratory Information System for data entry, queries, and verifying testing results. Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, and participate in quality control and assurance programs, including biosafety and infection control measures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or related sciences with one year of laboratory experience at the technologist level, or
  • Ninety college credits including relevant coursework and one year of laboratory experience, or
  • Equivalent qualifications as specified for prior training.
Additional Requirements
  • Must bring original documentation for interview, including proof of identity, education, address, and resume.
  • Possibility of remote work up to two days per week.
  • Residency in NYC within 90 days of appointment, with exceptions for certain counties after two years of service.
