Job summary

Western Governors University seeks an Associate Instructional Technologist to support online course development and assessment design. You will work with instructional designers and assessment developers to implement simulations, AI scoring, and other technologies within WGU's competency-based framework.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, ensuring course quality, and maintaining accessible, engaging learning experiences across platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with online university course design, curriculum development, online learning technologies and pedagogies.
Strong foundation in instructional design and learning theory.
Solid knowledge of instructional technologies or learning platforms.
Commitment to accessibility, usability, and universal design standards.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the build process for new courses and learning experiences and attend to continuous improvement and technology innovations of assigned projects.
Ensure the quality of the visual and functional design of courses and assessments.
Collaborate with development team to build online courses supported by research-based best practices in online learning.
Maintain understanding of all WGU learning and assessment tools and resources.
Ensure accessibility compliance and universal design across tools and content.
Meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders to promote collaboration and accountability.
