Simpson Strong-Tie in Stockton, CA is seeking an Associate Inside Sales & Quoting Representative to deliver exceptional customer service, process orders, prepare quotes, and support the sales team. You will learn products, systems, and quoting processes so you can confidently provide pricing, lead times, and order status.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role located on-site in Stockton. Success requires strong organization, attention to detail, and communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries, resolve routine issues, process orders, and provide information on pricing, product availability, shipping, freight, and order status.
• Prepare and maintain accurate customer quotations with pricing, lead times, production information, and supporting documentation; assist with converting quotes into sales orders.
• Provide product and basic technical assistance within the scope of training.
• Coordinate with Sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and other internal teams to address customer needs and support timely order fulfillment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate quotations and order information in SAP, EDI, the Customer Portal, and other company systems.
• Manage multiple customer service and order-processing priorities with accurate documentation and up-to-date product knowledge.

As an Associate Inside Sales & Quoting Representative, you will play an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting the quoting and order needs of our customers and sales team. You will serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries, phone queue support, order processing, pricing, and quote requests. You will receive training on our products, systems, and quoting processes so you can confidently provide accurate information, resolve customer needs, and prepare detailed, accurate quotations. Success in this role requires strong customer focus, attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to following through on customer requests.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of time)

• Deliver timely and accurate customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving routine issues, processing orders, and providing information on pricing, product availability, shipping, freight, and order status. (25%)
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate customer quotations, including pricing, job requirements, lead times, production information, and supporting documentation, and assist with converting approved quotes into sales orders. (25%)
• Provide product and basic technical assistance within the scope of training, referring customers to appropriate resources as needed. (15%)
• Coordinate with Sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and other internal teams to address customer needs and support timely order fulfillment. (15%)
• Prepare and maintain accurate customer quotations and order information in SAP, EDI, the Customer Portal, and other company systems. (10%)
• Manage multiple customer service and order-processing priorities while maintaining accurate documentation, strong follow-through, and up-to-date product knowledge. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and similar computer programs.
• Accountability & Dependability: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
• Mathematical Reasoning: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimal equivalents.
• Reading Comprehension: Able to read and write simple correspondence and able to follow instructions.
• Analysis / Reasoning: Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Customer Focus: Ability to quickly and effectively solve customer problems.
• Communication: Able to communicate one-on-one and in small group settings and in a team atmosphere.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.

PAY

$20.91 - $31.39 / hour
