Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design and implement enterprise infrastructure platforms across cloud, network, database, storage, and related domains. You will build Day 0/Day 1 automation, establish a new CI/CD automation product, and drive operational reliability through automation and monitoring.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers while contributing to governance and standards across the technology stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of infra engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing and middleware.
• 2+ years in network infra automation, NetDevOps or platform engineering preferred.
• IaC and Policy-as-Code with Terraform/OPA and cloud tooling preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and scripting.

Job description

• Design and build enterprise infrastructure technology platforms and systems across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware domains
• Create foundational capabilities for automating Day 0 and Day 1 network implementations and repeatable Day 2 configuration changes
• Build and establish a new CI/CD automation product for enterprise network infrastructure
• Apply automation, monitoring, and optimization techniques to ensure high availability and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve infrastructure standards and processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues affecting infrastructure performance and reliability
• Support compliance with technology strategies, standards, and governance
• Deploy infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures for operational consistency and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to technical innovation and advancement of infrastructure capabilities
• Support infrastructure deliverables and solutions with technical project teams
• Recommend enhancements to technical systems and processes
• Identify practical AI use cases to improve engineering efficiency, configuration quality, testing, and operational decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent education and related training
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware
• 2+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure automation, NetDevOps, platform engineering, or a related discipline preferred
• Experience designing and establishing a network automation platform, CI/CD capability, or infrastructure automation product from concept through enterprise adoption preferred
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development preferred
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform preferred
• Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and Policy-as-Code practices using Terraform, Open Policy Agent (OPA), and cloud-native tooling preferred
• Proficiency in Python and scripting languages preferred
• Experience automating Day 0, Day 1, and Day 2 network operations preferred
• Strong understanding of source-of-truth and network inventory solutions, preferably NetBox, and API integrations preferred
• Foundational network engineering experience including routing, switching, data center networking, network services, configuration management, and Cisco and Arista automation preferred
• Experience developing automated validation, testing, configuration compliance, error handling, rollback, auditability, and change governance capabilities preferred
• Experience deploying and supporting solutions in Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments preferred
• Experience in highly regulated industries preferred
• Ability to evaluate and implement AI-enabled engineering capabilities preferred
• Ability to collaborate across network engineering, cybersecurity, platform engineering, architecture, operations, risk, compliance, and change management teams preferred
• Experience mentoring infrastructure engineers in automation, Git-based workflows, testing practices, and modern software engineering methodologies preferred
• Self-directed and highly accountable, with ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and deliver results with limited oversight
• Comfortable balancing legacy infrastructure support, modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies
• English language fluency required
