Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey seeks an experienced Network Architect to design and implement enterprise-grade Cisco-based networks, including SD-WAN and automation frameworks. You will translate complex requirements into scalable architectures while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance across assets.

You will lead deployment efforts, mentor engineers, and collaborate across architecture, security, and operations to deliver reliable, secure connectivity for critical enterprise sites.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience with Cisco Route/Switch, Catalyst Center (DNA Center), Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, and fabric-based networking.
  • Experience with enterprise firewalls (Check Point, Fortinet).
  • Experience with DDI platforms (BlueCat).
  • Exposure to banking or regulated environments, risk management, and compliance considerations.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation frameworks applied to network engineering.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery models and cross-team infrastructure delivery processes.
  • Must work first shift in the United States of America; 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design infrastructure tools and services within architectural governance, standards, and policies.
  • Lead solution development and facilitate deployment of tools and services.
  • Maintain templates, playbooks, and automation used during implementation.
  • Translate requirements into enterprise network architectures, reference models, blueprints, and deployment playbooks.
  • Design, implement, and support Cisco-based wired and SD-WAN branch networks for ATMs, card readers, cameras, and IoT endpoints.
  • Leverage Cisco Catalyst Center for automation, configuration standardization, visibility, assurance, monitoring, and lifecycle management across branch sites.
  • Evaluate and validate reference architectures, deployment standards, and third-party networking and security products.
  • Develop automation and software-based solutions to eliminate manual and repetitive operational tasks.
  • Mentor and guide infrastructure resources, technical analysts, and infrastructure engineers.
  • Support production networks through incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, change control, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across architecture, security, operations, and business teams.
  • Promote an inclusive, healthy, and high-performing engineering culture and help resolve organizational blockers.

Job description

Requirements
  • Ability to work independently with minimal daily oversight in a complex enterprise environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, including enterprise campus and branch designs
  • Proven experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center) for network automation, monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Experience deploying and operating SD-WAN solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, or equivalent) in distributed branch environments
  • Working knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Cisco ISE for identity-based network access control
  • Experience supporting production networks, including problem management and structured change processes
  • Solid understanding of solution design, architecture principles, and enterprise governance
