Job summary

Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia is seeking an Associate Infrastructure Communications Analyst to support cloud-based telephony, messaging, UCaaS/CCaaS. This entry-level role targets recent graduates with 0–1 years of experience and will help transition from on-prem PBX to Zoom cloud services.

You will assist in configuring Zoom Phone, provisioning MACs, and troubleshooting telephony issues, while supporting end users and coordinating with the Networking team.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Title: Associate Infrastructure Communications Analyst – Time Type: Full time

The Associate Infrastructure Telecommunications Analyst will assist in providing easy-to-use, reliable, cloud-based telephony, messaging, unified communications, and collaboration services to the university community. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or a professional with less than one year of experience who is eager to learn modern UCaaS/CCaaS platforms. A primary focus of this role in 2026 will be supporting the University’s transition from legacy on-premise PBX systems to a Zoom cloud-based solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cloud PBX Support: Assist in the administration and feature configuration of Zoom Phone.
  • Provisioning & MACs: Manage Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) for users, including account provisioning, virtual line setups, and endpoint installations.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Under guidance, investigate and resolve telephony issues related to SIP trunking, call routing, and network interconnectivity.
  • Networking Extension: Serve as a technical extension of the Networking team by assisting with Layer 1 and Layer 2 support, hardware provisioning, and troubleshooting Ethernet/Phone jacks and cabling.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records for cabling locations and billing, and assist in uploading updates for E911 routing compliance.
  • End-User Support: Provide direct instruction and troubleshooting for faculty and staff using softphones, hardware devices, and web-accessible reporting tools.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent college/technical training) in Information Technology, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0–1 years of experience; internship experience in IT or telecommunications is a plus.
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to navigate modern software, cloud administration portals, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Problem Solving: A strong desire to learn and resolve diverse technical problems across hardware, software, and networks.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for coordinating with university departments and vendors.
  • AI Integration (Desired): An interest in or familiarity with AI-driven tools, such as conversational AI, automated transcription, or AI call routing.

Physical Activity: Ability to perform tasks involving walking, standing, kneeling, and crawling in confined spaces such as mechanical rooms or crawl spaces.

Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and transport equipment.

Schedule: This role includes on-call responsibilities and may require late-night or early-morning availability for system upgrades or unplanned outages.

Work Flexibility: Eligible to work from home 1 to 2 days per week with supervisor approval. This role directly supports on campus equipment and users with a primary work location of Hawk Hill (Philadelphia) and occasional travel to University City campus (Philadelphia) and Lancaster PA campus.

Pay Transparency: The estimated pay range for this position is $58,200-$65,000 annually. Offered salary will be commensurate with work experience and educational background.
