Job Description

The Hernandez Global Associate Attorney position requires 1-3 years of experience in the immigration field. The attorney in this role must be bilingual and licensed to practice law in at least one state. With oversight and training from a senior attorney, as well as support from a team of paralegals, this role will manage the firm’s EOIR Immigration Court caseload from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing written pleadings, relevant motions, prosecutorial discretion requests, and applications for relief;
  2. Facilitating document collection;
  3. Reviewing all EOIR filings prior to submission;
  4. Preparing clients for hearings;
  5. Appearing at hearings;
  6. Keeping staff up-to-date on EOIR procedures;
  7. Managing a portion of the firm’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) caseload, specifically cases requiring interviews (mainly applications to adjust status and naturalization).

The associate attorney will quickly learn and be confronted with multiple aspects of immigration law as they will be exposed to a variety of cases. This role comes with a great deal of responsibility; however, it is supported by multiple office components. The ideal candidate is self-motivated to perform in a high-volume, high-quality firm and is eager to learn and take direction. This role is ideal for an individual who wants to gain courtroom experience, is creative, enjoys being a member of a dynamic team, and is ready to enthusiastically defend HG clients. If relocating from outside of the Phoenix area, the firm will reimburse relocation costs.
